How to Install Monitorix on a Debian/Ubuntu Linux


 

       Monitorix is a computer network monitoring tool that periodically collects system data and uses the web interface to show the information as graphs. Monitorix allows monitoring of overall system performance, and can help detect bottlenecks, failures, unusually long response times and other anomalies.

Monitorix is free software licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License version 2 (GPLv2) as published by the Free Software Foundation. It uses the RRDtool (written by Tobi Oetiker) and is written in Perl.


Step by step to install monitorix on a Debian/Ubuntu Linux:
  • If you not have sofware monitorix, you can download in here. it is the official website monitorix.
  • Into the terminal as super user or root.
press ctrl+t or you can search in menu
  • You must update your computer.
apt-get update
  • If you want to download software via the terminal, you can type the following command :
wget (the destination address)
ex:  wget http://www.monitorix.org/monitorix_3.8.1-izzy1_all.deb
  •  Next, you are install the dependencies of monitorix.
apt-get install rrdtool perl libwww-perl libmailtools-perl libmime-lite-perl librrds-perl libdbi-perl libxml-simple-perl libhttp-server simple-perl libconfig-general-perl libio-socket-ssl-perl
  • Then, you are install monitorix.
dpkg -i monitorix*.deb
  • Then, you type the following command.
apt-get -f install
  • Configurasi monitorix this file.
/etc/monitorix/monitorix.conf
  • When you are done, restart Monitorix to let your changes take effect:
service monitorix restart or /etc/init.d/monitorix restart
  • Point your browser to http://localhost:8080/monitorix/ and enjoy.
  • If it appears the display as shown below just, click OK.
